MEET
Terry Canning
Terry grew up in Oshawa, attending Conant Public School, Lake Vista Senior Public, and G.L. Roberts High School.
After moving to Toronto, Terry made a name for himself in the car business: starting out in sales, he moved rapidly into management after being drafted by several dealerships, including Heron Chev Olds, Airport Chev Olds, Wilson/Niblett Chev Olds, and finally Terrace Gate Acura.
When the decision was made to move to Durham in 1993, Terry decided it was time for a change, and realized it was a great opportunity to work together with Margot as a team.

MEET
Margot Canning
Margot grew up in the area of Toronto now referred to as “The Upper Beaches”. She attended Corpus Christi Separate School, Bowmore Rd. Public School, Fairmount Park Senior Public School, Monarch Park High School, and finally George Brown College - where she obtained her real estate license in 1978.
Margot has worked from Bloor West Village to the Beaches, from Mississauga to Newcastle, and beyond! Splitting her efforts between sales, recruiting, training and management early in her career, she settled into full time sales when she and Terry decided to move to Durham in 1993 following the birth of their daughter Taylor.
MEET
Craig Canning
Craig was born on the East Coast, but from the age of three was raised in the Oshawa/ GTA area. He was involved in music from a very young age, playing in a Christian band with his two older brothers for a number of years. In business, he worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the plant manager of a large uniform company in Oakville; but he spent the better part of three decades in full time ministry. In this pursuit, he traveled extensively, before returning home to write, produce, and direct large-scale faith dramas which drew province-wide attendance to a 2500-seat auditorium and became hallmarks of the community.
In a new season of his life, Craig looks back with pride on the achievements of past fields, and looks forward to connecting with new friends - sharing wonderful memories as he helps make finding their dream home smooth, profitable, and even enjoyable.
MEET
Taylor Canning
Raised in Durham region, Taylor attended Coronation Public School and O'Neill C.V.I. before being chosen to represent Canada as an exchange student in the Netherlands, where she attended Etty Hillesum Lyceum.
When she returned to Canada, Taylor studied at the University of Ottawa and York University, earning double majors with honours, before transitioning into sales in the family tradition. She managed record-breaking teams in the retail industry before deciding to move into real estate after the birth of her son in 2024.
THE TEAM
Terry and Margot met in 1983, married in 1988, and dropped their “double income no kids” status in 1990 when they became parents of their only child, daughter Taylor.
They have been working as a team in real estate since 1993, consistently among the top Sales Agents in their company. They are also counted in the top 2% of Sales Agents as reported by the Toronto Real Estate Board. They’ve represented many of the top brokerages in the province, including Century 21 – Coldwell Banker – Sutton Group -- and Re/Max. With all the changes facing the industry, and after careful consideration, they recently decided to join the Number One Real Estate Brokerage as listed -- Right At Home Realty Inc.
Over the years, Terry and Margot have won many Industry Awards, including:
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE – OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT – 100% CLUB – SPIRIT – TOP PRODUCER – TOP TEAM PRODUCER – CENTURIAN – SILVER – GOLD – PLATINUM – LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT.
Though they are proud of these milestones, their greatest professional achievements are the hundreds of letters from satisfied clients and customers they’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the years. Many of their clients have gone on to recommend Terry and Margot to their loved ones, such that some of these testimonials include three generations of happy client families!
This loyalty and trust have been humbling and inspiring, and have made it possible for Terry and Margot to now bring their own family into the business: as of January 2025, their daughter Taylor and Terry's brother Craig have officially completed the Canning Team. Each bringing their own unique backgrounds, skillsets, and perspectives, Taylor and Craig are eager to contribute to the long history of excellence which has made the Canning Team a staple of this community.
